Rebel TMC MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, who engineered a rebellion in the Mamata Banerjee-led party and joined Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI) along with 19 other MPs, has sought the expulsion of former colleague and MP Kalyan Banerjee over alleged repeated verbal abuse and misogynistic comments.
Dastidar has given a formal complaint to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, seeking Banerjee’s expulsion. She accused the TMC leader of “repeated verbal abuse, misogynistic comments, and misconduct within the precincts of the Lok Sabha.”

In the fresh complaint, she said that the alleged misconduct of Banerjee has caused personal anguish and created an atmosphere that discouraged free participation of women in the House proceedings.
Reacting to the complaint made by the TMC rebel, Banerjee said that the allegations made against him by Dastidar are her “personal bias.”
“…If I am a habitual offender, did I do anything to you? Did I ever insult you? I have been in the legal profession for around 40 years. Someone who does not even come to Parliament is speaking against me. This is her personal bias,” he told reporters in Kolkata.
